Fall is here!  The days are getting cooler so please remember to dress your child appropriately.  You may leave a light jacket in your child’s cubby for those days it gets a little cool.

Stepping Stone is required to keep updated immunization records on all the children.  Please have your child’s pediatrician make a copy of their immunization record and drop it off to the office.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

On Thursday, October 15^th Stepping Stone is going on a field trip to Green Meadows Farm in Jessup.  Green Meadows Farm offers an ideal country learning environment where people of all ages can interact with the farm animals.  There are more than 200 animals on the farm including pigs, cows, horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, llamas, and more.  Everyone gets to feed the goats and sheep.  The children can even milk a cow if they’d like.  We sent home a permission slip that was due Tuesday, September 29^th.  We hope this will be an exciting day for the children!  As usual, children 2 and under, as well as those not potty trained, need a chaperone.  All other children are not required to have a chaperone but chaperones are always welcome.

The month of October is Fire Prevention month.  The Kent Island Fire Department will be visiting Stepping Stone with their fire truck.  We will know a specific time at a later date.

Our annual Halloween parade and party will be on Friday, October 30^th.  We will send home more information as the date approaches.

Our letters of the month are C and D.  The color is orange, the shape is a square, and the number is 2.  On Thursday, October 7^th, have your child wear something Orange.  On Tuesday, October 13^th, please have your child bring 2 things from home that begin with the letter C.  The children will be drawing a picture of something that begins with the letter D on Monday the 19^th.  On the 27^th the children will be finding things in the classroom that are in the shape of a square.  Our themes of the month are Fall and Halloween.  There are many activities planned for both. We know these activities will be fun and educational for the children. Thank you for your participation!

As a reminder, Stepping Stone has a no toy policy.  Please do not allow your child to bring toys from home to school.  Toys from home tend to cause a disruption in the classroom and on the playground.  Thank you for your cooperation.
